There has been discussions that jurors should be involved in the sentencing processs.
I am totally against it..........Seriously most ppple are so fucking dumb...and total cowards...they dont deserve to judge anyone. They dont know anything about the laws etc...........they shouldnt b emaking important decisions.
i read at articule on the weeekend...i think....it said like betweeen 10 and 20% of pple charged with murder in nsw or australia....are later acquited...or whatever......
and typically serve between like 12 and 18 months in jail......wiating for their acquital............and are not entitled to compensation.
i think the government also passsed a law... saying that.........prisoners are not entitled to sue the government for injuries sustained in jail.. unless they are relatively serious.. like a 20% disability.. i think that means if you get raped in jail....or bashed.....but recoever..................u dont get a cent... what about pychological damage and shit????????/ the government is fucked....
we have a justice system....focusing on punishment and responsibility.........but then the government fucks up........they want to be excempt from responsibility....
People get into fights etc....bash the shit out of someone..and are inprisoned..u should have a right to defend urself using excessive force...............u should have the right to keeep kicking ppple in the head...until they are unconscious........why should u knock them to the flooor...and let them get up..and have another turn............................. our laws are bull shit.
if you serve 1 year in jail....................and are found innocent............u deserve $1,000,000.....
Also if a jury..finds..someone guilty............and later they are shown to be innnocent................the jury should be penalised.............there should be consequences for ruining someones life.
what do you think of lettting jurors...making decisions relating to sentencing?
what do you think of letting ppple who were locked up for a year....and then being found not guilty.........being entitled to large amounts of compensation?
