for 1. we use the relationship that T2-T1=T3-T2. Put over a common denominator each side, then cross multiply and cancel terms. This will leave you with the relationship xz=y^2. We can then say that x,y and z are 3 consecutive terms of a geometric progression as T2 x T4 = (T3)^2.
