5 + 8 + 13 + 21 + 34 + 55 + . . . .

from 5 to 13, theres "8" difference, from 13-34, theres "21" difference... and so on..
therefore 5 + 8 + 13 + 21 + 34 + 55 +89+144+233+377=979
