sharing internet connection (1 Viewer)

Ok now I have a normal desktop pc with the a broadband connection. I also have a Laptop but its got no internet connection. The desktop Pc is downstairs in the study while the Laptop stays in my room upstairs.

Now is there anyway I can have the same internet connection on my pc as well as my laptop?

If so how do i set it up? What equipment do I need to purchase? From where?

thanks. i forgot to fix it up.

Cheapest solution:
If you're connect via a network cable. Buy another network interface card for your PC ($20-50) and a short cross over patch cable ($5).
You can share your connection that way by bridging the networks together.
Although it's cheap, i wouldn't reccommend it.
