really need help on these help points. Need to find outside source other than texts books.

* List and decribe the types of metal and metal annoys used throughout the history of shipping and describe how these corrode and how they differ in their resistence to corrosion in the marine environment.

In an earlier dot point it says to identify the types of metals used in ships....Iron and steel. Iron corrodes more easily because of the carbon present in the impurity of the iron, therefore the carbon acts as a cathode and you have a reaction taking place when water is present.
As for steel, there is not one steel used in shipping. Depending on the carbon content it can change the properties of the steel. For example, iron + 4% Carbon => alloy is very brittle and of limited practical use
iron + 0.1% Carbon => alloy quite ductile
iron + 1% Carbon => alloy much tougher and harder wearing.
