despite the outcome of this case i find it wrong that corby was allowed to give a personal defence impact statement about how she "couldnt live in jail" and how "her life was over"
cases should be decided upon the facts and the facts alone. what does corby's feelings about it have to do with anything? sure she may very well be suffering but should that have an impact on the case?

if a killer shows no remorse, he'll get a much worse punishment than if he is genuinely remorseful.

get my point?

She already had the chance to emotionally plead with the judge.

Before the verdict.

Being a judge he wasnt so happy with this. Mainly because he doesnt see it any different from the x number of cases he has handled in his life.
yeh i know she did. im saying i think it was wrong...
yeh ok but you obviously cant show remorse unless you admit guilt right gordo? she pleaded not guilty

hmm sorry remorse was kind of the wrong word,

more like she is showing judges respect in her closing statement by alot of the thing she said, where as another person might be be like fuk this system your all a-holes.

and judges have plenty of experience, her closing wouldn't sway them at all, despite its effect on the public

i felt it was more for the public than anything else. perhaps if there was enough public pressure in indonesia and internationally then her sentance would have been decreased..more so

The case was decided on facts and facts alone, that's why everyone is so pissed off. 90% of Australians have made the decision that she is innocent based on her feelings and emotions.

yeh good point. but if it was decided upon the facts alone then why even have the statement at all and give corby a false hope?

in reguards to that
everyone is saying she'll die
the conditions are terrible in bali
blah blah..
but shes no better then the people already in gaol over there
and if shes so strong..as stated many times then she will be ok

peoples major concern is if shes going to have to go to gaol atleast let her serve her sentence over here
i dont have a problem with that..but i think shes human like all the otehr prisoners in bali..and shes no more special or important or frail or whatever
she can serve her sentence there
