Hey peeps, need some advice on chemistry. I want to do well in it, I’ll probs have to self learn all of mod 1 this summer bcz most tutoring centres have alr done it in term 4 of yr 10, but I was wondering if I should go tutoring…? Im a monster at studying, but lowk Idk how accountable and locked in i Can be to self learn so Im not lost in class before we start the content at school, which will be very time consuming, and I’ll still need to do past papers and questions (from idk what resources). Is tutoring worth it to get ahead, and for resources, will it save me time from learning it myself, or just add extra pressure (I’m doing accellerated math, 3 units of Eng, physics, bio accellerated 😭🥲). Thing is I usually need to relearn everything after a tutor or teacher explains it after at home (idk bro i need time to rlly rlly deeply understand concepts for it to stick).

I need a place that’s affordable too, I can’t be ripping off my parents 💔.

Id ideally prefer to be able to do it without tutoring tho, PLEASE anyone have a game plan, and good way to get goated at chem on their own 🙏 or a place that seems good for me

I never did tutoring for chem, but my teacher wasn't the best so I had to self learn most of the content. I predominantly used Science Ready for explaining content and then Organic Chemistry Tutor for any additional understanding. Apart from that, use prelim and trial papers from THSC, ACE HSC and other online sites to get a feel of what you will actually be tested on. From there, it's just a load of hardwork and consistency. I know you are doing other accelerated subjects, but chem isn't one that can really be left behind, so just try to have a plan of everything you need to do in a day and stay consistent with it.

HSC resources for chemisery so garbage i just gave up on it. i shouldnt have to refer to out of syllabus stuff just to learn hsc chemistery. why is it important? because im doing 5 other subjects. there's no time to waste learning useless stuff that wont be tested.
