Should I drop chem or bio? (1 Viewer)

I recently got my prelim marks back for both chem and bio. I was set on dropping bio however I did somewhat well (81%), whilst doing really badly in chem (69%, below average). Is a chem comeback possible? or should I cut my losses? I am picking up two extension units so I will have 13 units if I drop one, however I can also drop both, having 11 units. I am a bit worried about 11 units though as I feel I won't perform as well in some, and don't want them to count.

you're in a really awkward set of numbers - personally, I wouldn't recommend doing 13 units especially with 2 extensions, but being on 11 is scary. personally, I would drop chem - chem does not align as well as some people think, I think bio might actually align better. yes, chem scales better, but it's not going to help all that much. how was your bio compared to the average? sometimes, since chem is harder, it turns out you're sitting at a similar space for both, in which case, pick whichever you prefer. also have a look at how many b6s your school got in each subject in prior years (HSCNinja) - this may help you get a feel for what you would be able to aim for, and what you could reasonably expect. if you think you can band 6 one, for example, drop the other.

hope this helps!
