my school almost forces us to write AWI strands (technique, context, quote, connective, effect) but i hear the top schools use IQTVE so i was wondering should i stick to AWI or transition to IQTVE

would there be any benefits for marking, or could my school mark me down for not using AWI?

honestly just stick with AWI for now,like IQTVE sounds so much better but randomly switching is just gonna mess up your writing while you're still figuring it out but it wont hurt giving it a go. markers don't actually care what acronym you use they just wanna see you hit the technique, quote, effect stuff

the teacher that actually created the iqtve works at my school so i'm very familiar with it and your awi thing doesn't seem that different besides the fact that theres no explicit I in awi and no explict C in IQTVE so you could prob js add an I to your school thing and do fine anyways (also your I could just fit in under your E (im equating effect = evaluation here) naturally). but as someone said above, markers really don't care how you analyse quotes as long as you're including all the necessary information and have effective analysis (i.e. personally i dont use IQTVE/any acronym structure bc before IQTVE was introduced to my school i had already found my own way of analysing texts that worked and i still consistently get full marks). if you would like a more detailed breakdown of IQTVE in general (since im not truly sure what constitues awi but based on ur breakdown it seems pretty similar) feel free to pm me.
