But it says its edition 4E05? If i get edition 4 off a friend, is that the same thing?

I would imagine 4E05 means the 4th edition printed in 2005. If the edition is the same the content should be no different other than when it was printed.

The editions don't really matter much (only if they are really old). I think you'll be fine even using the 3rd edition.
