So the other day some guy drove into me, everything was totally his fault.

I was driving an manual but i only have an auto license.

Will the insurance company be able to find out I was driving with the wrong license? What will they do if they find out i have the wrong license?

umm. yes. all they need to do is look at ur licence, and then the car, and find out u were technically driving without a licence. id be suprised if ur insurance company pays. Maybe u can say someone else was driving?

Do you know whether the insurer actually has the cars auto/manual-ness on file?

Personally I'm doubting they check your licence to see if you can drive manual (in fact I'm not sure if they would have the access to do so - well not without a FoI application).

If you did the test in auto your license should say it somewhere... the only time it doesn't matter is when you've reached Green P's (i think) under the current system... but wasn't there plans to change it so once an auto-license, always an auto-license? (not sure if that change happened yet).

just bullshit and say you was learning manual or someshit, and that you had a full licence person sitting passenger seat. blahblah. and that you wanted to do your p's test again and get manual p's...

Then they'd ask why you didn't have your L plates on.

Either way, insurance companies are bastards, I doubt you'll get your money.

my friend got some money, when he writeoff his s2k, from the insurance company

in the insurance policy , it said that all claims are void if the car has any aftermarket mods done to it,
and his car had quiet a few aftermarket mods, including coldair intake, headers, etc.. but he still got his money. even tho he was speeding as well.

the guy mentioned this to him and said that he had a low chance of getting anything, but he got his money.

dunno how he did it tho.

so you never know, they might just actually pay :)

That has to be the first story of generosity on an insurance company's part I’ve ever heard.

Good sign though. :)
