so which textbooks do you actually use? (1 Viewer)

i've been talking to a couple of friends and everyone says don't buy the recommended texts and that they never actually even read some of the prescribed.

so... what do i buy?
(the woman at the unsw bookstore said don't buy anything till you ask the lecturer which one you will actually be using but generally to get the maths ones. but i want a rough idea before that of what to get)

I'm doing Commerce, first year, majoring in ISM.
So for semester one that's ACCT1501, ECON1202, ECON1101, and INFS1602.

You can look here for prescribed/recommended texts for each subject:
http://www.bookshop.unsw.edu.au/textlist.html

Even then sometimes the prescribed texts aren't needed. You'll be told in lectures what is/isn't really needed.

Accounting and Economic textbooks are a must to have.

Usually you can get through by not reading some Finance books.
