Does ne 1 kno the causes of the social war? The one b/w Rome and the Italian allies... Thanx

ummm im not quite sure but i think it had something to do with the italian allies being denied roman citizenship even though they were supplying men for the roman army so they declared war on rome......im pretty sure thats what happened.....dont quote me on it though

The allies had semi-citizenship... They had to pay taxes and were answerable to Roman authorities, however they could not vote, nor represent themselves in a Roman court. I think you're right about their military commitments... Can't quite remember though.
