Hey guys I was wondering if anyone that did SAC managed to score an atar above 95??? Alot of people have been telling me it scales atrociously and im seriously getting abit worried

Yes of course! As you can see from the table (from the UAC report on scaling for the 2024 HSC - you can find it online), the max ATAR achieved by someone doing SAC was 99.65 last year. Of course, it's not the most ideal because a lot of courses have a max of 99.95, but if you're just aiming for 95+ that's definitely achievable

Just adding to this - even if the ceiling looks like its 99.65, that doesn't mean it actually is! The ceiling for all subjects should be 99.95, there is just the stereotype (and common occurrence) that smart kids choose the "hard subjects" e.g. physics and do well in them as well as their other subjects which is why it looks like it has a higher ATAR ceiling. (Please correct me if I'm wrong :p)

Yess this is true too, just because that was the cap one year doesn't mean you can't get higher another year. It's just that all the students who want to get very high ATARs tend to choose those higher-scaling subjects
