1. in working out, can we directly write [OH-] = Kw / [H3O+], or must we first write Kw = [OH-] [H3O+] and then rearrange (this applies to other formulae as well)?
2. does the number of sig figs in working out matter, or is it just important for the answer?

also: if we want to write, say, 12, in 1 sig fig, it will be written as 1 * 10, right?

1. That's trivial so it should be fine
2. Work with exact numbers and then convert to 3 sig fig or what not for your final answer
