Hey guys,
My half yearly for Studies of Religion Unit 1 is soon and my extended essay response is on Christianity environmental ethics. The Question is as followed (with quote):
"...[Christianity] has an important role to play in addressing the crisis, ... such a role is based not on a pragmatic response to the situation, but rather that is rises out of the theology of the Church." - Rev Clive Ayre (2008) The Church in Eco-Crisis
Question: With reference to the quotation explain how the environmental ethical teachings of Christianity influence the life of the adherents.

The question is worth 20 marks, pretty much don't know how to structure this or even attempt to structure it! I have alot of info but anyone helppppppp or tips I beg you!

From my understanding, the main idea of the quote is that the role of Christianity in terms of the environment is to address the issue through church teachings as opposed to anything else. So, to set out this essay, there should be three or four separate teachings on the environment - use them as the basis for your paragraphs. Then look at how these teachings impact the lives of Christians and whether they offer theological guidance on the issue or practical guidance.
