NASA newbie here, but what's the mission for, i know it's 'return to flight', but they are just flying to a space station what's big about that?

The fact that its return to flight.

On the mission, its basically to Ressuply the ISS and secondly, to test their new shuttle repair kit.

Mission has been scrubbed for today.

There is an issue with a low fuel sensor

great
i got up, walk in, turn on the tv, and see them draining the fuel out of the boosters cause of a faulty fuel sensor

i can sort of empathise with the fact that so much can go wrong,
i hope it launches soon though, they hav a window period of 5 minutes a day till the end of july then they have to wait till after 9th september, in order to launch it so iss is in the right trajectory

i hope they dont too much 'safety' stuf into it such that it cant take off. well personally i they are not doing much in space apart form the building the international space station, which is good idea but serves little purpose.

Besides, the chances of it blowing up in orbit are minimal because the times when it is submitted to the most stress is during launch and re-entry.

Your probably right, But it would be funny in the sense that....the govt poured so much $$$ into the project...it would be nice to see it *KABLAM*
keeping in mind the *ever Improving* welfare system of America.

They aren't even doing anything important. When they do I will be interested. Until then I don't care.

The government only poured a third as much $$$ in the project that they should have.

less than an hour to launch. It will be shown on ABC and i believe the other channels

All Discovery crew members now are on board and the space shuttle's hatch is closed. Officials say all systems look good for launch at 10:39 a.m. ET. A fuel sensor problem that scrubbed the liftoff nearly two weeks ago did not recur today.
