Ok, so I did a search and got nothing....

has anyone applied for Special Consideration at usyd? I'm thinking of applying for the final exams. I've emailed my tutors and got forms and such. Will my exams be post-poned? or when they're marking my exam, will they take my special consideration into account?

does anyone know of it personally?

i only applied for special consideration for assignments..not sure about exams tho.

What they do is get your form, enter the details into the special consideration database and then stamp it and tell you to give it to the relevant people in charge of the unit. They then make a decision based on whatever evidence you give. If youre successful there are three basic outcomes:

If you were unable to attend the exam for it:
1. Let you take another exam
2. Exempt you from taking it and adjust your marks accordingly

If you took the exam:
3. They could adjust your marks based on your performance in other assessments

at the moment I still wanna do the exam at the set time, coz I don't wanna prolong this shit, I have enough to worry about. But if next week I can't do it, then it's nice to know it's there.

My tutors all said I'd be able to get it, so I think it's going smoothly.

anyway, the departments take five years to respond to special request emails. Clearly they don't think special considerations/emails/me being sick is important. Then again, why would they care? lol

It's good that they provide supplementary exams, but I hate prolonging the agony.
