If the question permits, I'm doing Skrzynecki poems and a Chris Browne cartoon (hagar the horrible). I'm unsure which stimulus booklet text to use. In trying to use a wide variety of texts, I won't use another poem (I was penalised in my trials for using skryznecki + atwood) but what about Ivory Trail? Both Ivory Trail and Browne are visual, but one's a cartoon, the other a book cover...... so what do you think? Even Journeys over land and sea uses visuals, so would that also be an issue?

I don't want to do Wind in the Willows :D

you really should have thought of this before now, the test is tomorrow. do something that u feel comfortable with, obviously not a poem but dont try and learn a long one. if ur having trouble writing notes go to the resources page there are summary notes for the entire stimulas booklet.

lol i'll rephrase my quesiton.

If I use Ivory Trail and a cartoon as my only related text, will I be penalised for not using a "wide variety of texts?" If we should avoid 2 poems, should we avoid 2 visuals? Or are not all visuals the same?

well for 1 you should have at leat 2 related texts coz they can ask you for 2 and 2 u probably shouldnt use Ivory Trail if ur using a cartoon and no other related texts. try the film review Blood on the tracks, or even Journey over Land and Sea, its not really about the visuale in that one, or the last text "the town where time stands still"

hope tis helpful

just got off the hsc advice line, the lady marked the HSC last year. She said you would not get marked down for not using a wide variety of texts. She didn't do it when she marked the HSC, and said that nobody else would have either.

interesting
