i know this is a fairly common problem, but i can't seem to find a way around it...

whenever i print to CutePDF writer (as a virtual printer) or when i print 'odd' PDF docs to my physical printer, the spoolsv.exe hogs the crap out of my CPU... i look at the print job, and its like 40megs!?!

i can't live without spooling bcoz i wanna do multiple page -> single page printing...

goddamn annoying >.<

From what I can tell, this seems to be a problem with printing in SP2. Or you are infected with a virus (there are a few that take advantage of spoolsv and crsss), so I suggest doing a virus scan first.

Deleting the print files from C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS after printing should help, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information around on why this is happening.

I did find this, but not sure how much help it might be.

Might pay to wade through some google results.
