GO. Start. Initiate. Launch. Activate. The time is NOW. Time for change. Time to make our voices heard. Time for a new era to begin. With the almost imminent onset of VSU, the lives of students on campus are sitting at a momentous cusp. Now, more than ever, the SRC is working tirelessly for the best interests of students at Sydney. Their efforts often go unsung but are essential for maintaining quality of life and basic services for students. Yet, the SRC is not without its faults and shortcomings…

GO!!! is a group of independent candidates from diverse backgrounds. Unlike our colleagues in many other tickets, we do not have any political affiliation and aren’t interested in using student contributions to further political agendas. Our guiding principle is to provide a truly representative SRC composed of students, run by students, and operating for the interests of all students.

More specifically, we are running for greater representation for ethnica and international students. Australia is a country that prides itself for its strong sense of multiculturalism and egalitarianism. Yet as it stands, the SRC does not adequately represent a broad cross-section of the student population. We are not arguing for an extended form of Affirmative Action. Rather, we want to encourage students from these backgrounds to take a more active interest in how our SRC is run, and to act as role models for future generations of enthusiastic participants.

Similarly, we at GO!!! are extremely frustrated by the fact that international students have been a forgotten section of our university community. For years, the SRC has not even been able to fill an officer for Overseas Students. This is an unacceptable situation that needs to be resolved immediately. GO!!! is comprised of a mix of both international and local students, and is thus perfectly positioned to deal with any matters which international students may have.

GO!!! will also fight for:

1. Better services on campus
2. Eliminating all forms of sexual and racial discrimination
3. Lower HECS and more funding for public education
4. Adequate representation in the SRC for all students
5. More computing facilities in Uni
6. Free Printing Quota
7. Travel Concessions for international students
8. Regulating and capping international student fees
9. More student accommodation
10. Smaller classrooms

We are running for greater representation, a stronger SRC, and realistic policies. So go on, Vote [1] GO!!! for SRC & NUS
