Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know of an important meeting about the new SRC, which is currently in the works.
Monday 27th August, 1pm onwards, in the Atrium (lowest level of SAM Building, just below the foodcourt).
If you can only come to a part of the meeting, that's okay too - just make sure you drop by!

Paul Bowler, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Operating
Officer.
To all students,
The purpose of this email is to inform you of developments in
relation to the Student Representative Council (SRC) and
encourage your input into the constitutional development
process.
Currently a student working group has been developing an
interim constitution under which a SRC will be elected, fulfil
their duties and develop a student mandated constitution to be
adopted in Semester 1, 2008. It is important that a SRC is in
place for the start of 2008 in order to serve student interests
and direct us into this exciting and important period at
Macquarie University.
Elections for the SRC will be held this semester from Tuesday 23
to Thursday 25 October (week 11). Nominations for the
elections will open at 9am on Monday 10 September (week 7)
and close at 5pm on Friday 12 October (week 9).
In order to allow for student participation in the development
of the interim constitution there will be a General Student
Meeting on Monday 27 August (week 5) to discuss the draft
constitution. The meeting will be held in the Atrium of the SAM
building from 1-3pm. Students are encouraged to attend the
meeting and provide input on the constitution. It is important
that as many students as possible are involved in the process,
so please diarise the meeting and be there!
