I'm slowly getting back into sport (not competitve, but social) such as tennis and bball

and i am looking at building my stamina..I don't have the natural stamina..so i am thinking is there a way that I can quickly build it up?

I am planning to do 30 mins (gradually increase time length and intensity) of cardio every 2nd or 3rd day

Agreed.

The only way to get used to doing long hard hours, is doing long hard hours! :)

Problem is both tennis and Bball, use different enrgy systems than just "do 30 mins a day". You'd be better off doing some form of Fartlek training, i.e. Pick you pace, then every 2-3min increase the intentsity for a while, then drop back down again, and do for 20 or more minutes.
