Hey there sexy ppl,

this is my first post, and hopefully a kind soul out there will reply

As we await the return of our results, have any of u felt that gut clenching pain as you realise that the 6 hrs of last min cramming you did the night b4 the exam may not have been enough to see you safely across the 50% line and on to calm waters

well i have, and as such 'study' has taken on 'meaning'

Ive decided to tackle stats, as a definite weak spot...and

Please can someone explain the T test... :s

The t test is a test based on the normal distribution model when standard deviation of the sample isn't known.

The test statistic is T_ob=(mean-hypothesis mean)/(observed standard deviation/Sqrt[sample number]). Large values of T_ob argue against the hypothesis mean. This value is checked with against the table of values to achieve a P value.

Stats is a specific part of my course structure, but I still managed to argue them down

They recommend discrete for almost everything science or engineering based. Discrete is practically useless except maybe for PhD in that topic or honours in pure.
