We didn't mean to offend...i thought you were a girl before i looked at your profile. Ask some professionals but i know a girl who did too much shit to her hair - straightening, colouring etc and now she's got a massive bald spot. :)

Well the girls now paying $3000 to get her hair fixed. If your hairs been thinning then i suggest you just learn to accept your curls!

One of my friends got his hair chemically straightened. He used to have curls. Believe me, curls are so much more attractive. ;)

EDIT: Stop straightening your hair. Or if you do, use a straightening serum. Soon your hair won't be curly, or wavy, just a dull straight. It happens like that. Your hair cells will die. It's nicer to have healthy looking hair.

post pics of your hair if you want suggestions on alternatives you could use to make it look better.

Straightening is really really bad for your hair. Especially if you use the higher temperature range. Doing it occasionally is okay. I'd suggest investing in some product like a leave-in moisturiser that a) makes your hair shiny and healthier if you straighten, and b) kill any frizz.

my ex had wavy/curly hair and he got it chemically straightened, but it didn't do much good. Your hair will still be slightly wavy, don't expect it to go the same way it does when you straighten it.
???

Getting your hair chemically straightened is pretty effective. Obviously, his hairdresser done a dodgy job.

Most of the ones I've seen are pretty dead straight. And they usually cost like 100 bucks. That's an okay price.

I'm straightening my hair (like...with a straightener) for a dare. My hair is curly, and borderline afroish. Is this possible?

straightening your hair every day will kill it, even if you use serums etc. try to only do it once a week, like on a friday or saturday night.

trust me, i wrecked my hair completely, cut it short and had to wait for it to grow out again. that was from going really blonde and straightening the fuck out of it about 3 times a week, if you do it every day, youll be on your way.

It really depends on the straightener you have, like some can fry your hair while others can make your hair even better without wrecking ur hair.

Usually the top end straighteners are meant to be good for your hair, i'd say $200 be safe to use everyday
nope, they dont make your hair "better", they just do marginally less damage. if you must fry your hair, use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week.

Dont worry, my brother started straightening his curly hair a few months ago...we thought it was strange too lol.

I straighten my hair usually when I wash my hair which is like roughly every 2-3 days maybe longer...sometimes i cant be bothered straightening it. I use Paul Mitchell heat seal to protect my hair from the heat. And I use some other thing that is meant to help keep my hair straight...its a Wella whatever it is brand so yeah...
