Personally our class last year structured it as:
- Text 1 Idea 1
- Text 2 Idea 1 (incl. how it shapes/reshapes text 1 idea 1 - i.e. comparison/contrast)
- Text 1 Idea 2
- Text 2 Idea 2 (incl. how it shapes/reshapes text 1 idea 2 - i.e. comparison/contrast)
The other top class' teacher recommended that it be structured as:
- Text 1 Idea 1
- Text 2 Idea 1
- Texts together idea 1 how they shape/reshape each other - comparison/contrast
- Text 1 Idea 2
- Text 2 Idea 2
- Texts together idea 2 how they shape/reshape each other - comparison/contrast
I know some of my friends found that a bit demanding though and reverted to the first structure - which is also the one I used. It's pretty clear structure-wise, similar to a belonging essay where you talk about your core, then related + links back to the core, etc.
P.S. If you're doing PP/LTA, they expect at least 2 ideas (e.g. marriage, education) - probably the same for other texts too, not sure, but it'd be pretty narrow to just discuss the one thing esp for PP/LTA.
