Find the area bounded by the curve y=square root of (x+2) and the line x=7

Find the area bounded by the curve x=-y^2 -5y-6 and the y-axis

First and foremost, draw your graphs.

y=√(x+2) x=7

By instinct, Mathematicians know that the result of the square root of a function is never negative (except if outside is negative).

Enter (0+2) ^(1/2) in your calculator, keep trying until you get the Math Error, that should occur when x < -2, you found another intercept.

AND

x = -y2- 5y - 6 and the y-axis

By sketch you should have a parabola concave left on the negative y-axis.
Draw it, the area on the left is not bound by a y-axis, the right side is.
Your intercepts should be y = - 2 and y = - 3, find the area from there.
