Whats the penalty if you dont pay by the 29th ?

no penalty really. They just send you a warning letter letting you know that you havent paid, and if you dont soon, then they will basically discontinue your studies.

ok thanks! i actually ended up paying over the phone ,the number is 1300 301 043 if anybody needs to do some last minute payments tomorrow

its pretty hassle free.

if you defer your hecs, do you have to do anything? i mean the invoice came with what i have to pay if i pay upfront or what i have to pay if i defer, which is 0. i just leave it, and everything is taken care of?

Just leave it and you dont have to do anything, the government will put you on their debt list

How much are the fees? I don't know why they don't tell you on the payment site, they just ask how much you'd like to pay...
