hi

where are the study areas in the library? i know its there somewhere, i asked the security guard standing at the front a few weeks back and he said "go to the back of the library", yeah of which level dickhead? maybe it is on the ground floor but i didnt see it, can someone point it out to me? its a pretty big library and i dont want to go searching for it. preferably quite places away from the bookshelves to avoid idiots searching for books while talking.

I thought it's scattered around the actual library, many seats around the bookshelves..

if you go to the higher levels of the library though, there should be more seats, and plus the view is amazing. It's generally a quiet place as well. Even quieter at the higher levels, in my experience.

Well this is a good opportunity to do some exploring. Usually going up to a high floor or taking random staircases is good enough to find a quiet place.

i was hoping that they would have half of entire floors filled with just seats and tables, (similar to what they have going at usyd), do they? somewhere where people come, shut the fuck up and do some work instead of finding a spot in the bookshelves and carrying on like a pack of shitheads.

Dont be afraid to tell people off in the library.

I do my study there in the winter when its too cold to sit on the library lawn and even though I go to the deadest part, there are invariably dickheads wholl think a quiet study area is a good place for a group discussion.

It depends where you go - theres that whole area that seems to be an unofficial Asian common room on level 4, but down the other end near all the hansard records and stuff its usually dead quiet.
