Hi guys! Just wondering if it's possible to continue studying a language in uni even though it has no correlation with my course at all - just a side interest.
Thanks!
This is at USYD btw.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's possible, especially for USYD.

I think if you take a degree at USYD combined with their new Bachelor of Advanced Studies, you can actually major in areas that have no correlation with your degree. So for example, if you took a Science/Advanced Studies degree, you could potentially major in something like Physiology as well as a language.

If you don't want to major in a language though, you can always just take a language elective unit anytime during your degree.

Yes you can study languages at USYD as a 'side' course.
It's called the Diploma of Language Studies and offers a range of different languages.
If you would like to continue studying a language, as you said, they offer beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes so they'll test you and put you into the appropriate level.
I'm thinking about doing this course too but there is an additional fee of course :bomb:
You can find the list of languages and more info at this link:

Good Luck!
