is the best way to study making notes directly from the module guides for each topic, eg

maintain system integrity
Key Terms and Concepts
• backup and restore policies and procedures
• virus protection policies and procedures
• copyright
• backup media
• file security
• file attributes
• auditing
• file extensions and their associations

so il make a heading for each one of these and do the same for each topic??

and for the Learning experiences for the HSC shown in the syllabus/module guides do we need to know these things for the actual hsc exam for example

Learning experiences for the HSC must include:
• performing backups (partial and full) and restoring computer files

First of all basically you should know about the meanings listed in general, and then furthermore go in depth and know how you can explain it to someone in plain english, do you understand what's need of what was listed, perhaps, they might ask a question "Discuss the needs to have backup and restore policies and procedures within a company's policy guide".
