10^2x - 5(10^x) + 4 = 0

I substituted x for u, and got u=1 and 4.

My question is, 10^x=1, so x=0. But 10^x=4, what is x for this?

You can use logarithms to determine x.

10x = 4

So, log(10x) = log(4)

x log(10) = log(4)

Therefore, x = log(4) / log(10)
