Hi, I'm doing civil engineering at unsw and currently enrolled in higher maths 1141, higher physics 1131, ENGG1000 and now I'm thinking of moving from normal computing to higher computing 1917.. So do you guyz think it's alright for the first semester or should I just stick with normal computing and concentrate more in maths and physics??? Plz reply asap... I'm so confused.... Thanks for any advice on this.... :)

Do higher computing only if you've got interest in it, otherwise imo, just stick with comp1911 as it is suitable for your engineering discipline. Also, doing 3 higher courses may be a pain in the ass to keep up all the work..

why would u want to do comp1917?

Civil requires at least engg1811, so comp1911 is already more than u need to do, but is still accepted, as is comp1917.

I reckon u should focus more on math and physix, at least if u think ur good at C programming u can ace comp1911, maybe get a D or HD.

I was also thinking maybe I should stay in higher computing for a while and then decide whether I should stick with it or drop to normal comp... Is higher computing all about programming or does it also include studying about computer hardware?
