I've managed to find a way to stop the emails coming through but I cant stop the subscriptions either.

In Edit Options, I put the default setting to "No Email Notifications"...but i just delete all the subscriptions every few days...I cant think of another way. It is better than getting an email a second though! :p

Go to your user CP, where it lists the threads you are subscribed to, do you have two links under the name of the thread: " Reply | Unsubscribe " ?

Sorry I just realised, if you are talking about older threads that are not listed in the 'new subscribed threads' listing - go and list your entire listing, then in the bottom of the that page, next to "Selected Threads", you can move the threads you've checked to "Deleted Threads" (from the drop down box next to selected threads)
