is there a difference between a synchronous motor and a universal motor, if so please give and explanation and definition of each. Im really confused with this part of the syllabus, they dont really specifically mention either they just say "describe the main features of an AC electric motor", WHAT TYPE OF AC MOTOR?!!!!!

you just need to describe the main features of an AC electric motor, hence you can choose. i suggest you pick the simple one, which is jsut like the simple dc motor, excepr for the commuatior
