OK - i know the context and values pretty dam well ...... lol
ANd i know the plot and characters ..


But for heavens sack .... whjat are some examples of techniques such as irony, symbolism, imagery, foreshadowing (soothsayer .. i know that one), etc etc

And what is powerplay? .... our teacher has never mentioned it????!!

Foreshadowing - The use of omens in Act II Scene II in the discussion between Casca and Cassius shows that something "bad" imminent, in this case the death of Julius Caesar. Also, in the final Act, vultures circle Cassius' camp and he makes a statement saying that something on the lines of that he will not win the battle today.

Imagery - blood.

Soliloquys- there are many of them. Find them :) eg- Mark Antony's true feelings when he talks and kneels over the body of JC, or Brutus contemplating whether or not to kill Caesar.

Irony- the repetition of the sentence "Brutus is an honourable man" is ironic, as Mark Antony is using satire and sarcasm to attack Brutus' integrity.

Powerplay: Check the HSC English forums. There's a section there with information. JC was part of the Powerplay module before the syllabus changed, so there should be some information on it.
