I basically have to deconstruct this simple poem and find at least 3 different literary techniques. I've noticed that the poem itself is an extended metaphor (accompanied with other metaphors embedded within) but I'm having trouble finding any other techniques. I've never been very good with identifying techniques (especially in poetry), so if anyone comes across anything else, please do post.

No Man Is An Island

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

Thanks

*Also first post yay.

Anaphora of "as well as"
Repetition of "toll"
Repetition of "thine"
Extended geographical references.
High modality of "no" in "no man is an island" enforces the idea that one's personal identity is not fulfiled without connection to the larger world/community/society/outer interactions.
The "continent" is symbol for the persona's world/society/culture/a collective identity.
Enjambment in "As well as if a manor of thine own or of thine friend's were"
Extended metaphor/metonym of the literal world being symbolic of the persona's existence.
The world acting as a synecdoche for the persona and the significance of the outer world to the persona's existence.

Just my interpretation lol.

Thanks a lot. I did end up finding some of the techniques you've listed. I also appreciate the discussions of the examples/techniques.
A great help, completed what I intended to do, thanks once again.
