I applied for a line connection last week, apparently there was still an active connection (the last people to occupy the place didn't get it d/ced) and so I faxed through my proof of occupancy as required. Yesterday I received a letter dated the 13th (Monday) saying "Thank you for choosing us blah blah" you know the type. I haven't received a bill or anything yet for the connection (should be $59) but I thought hey maybe that'll just go on the normal bill which comes however often. But I did think it odd that they hadn't yet supplied me with the number. Anyway I got around to buying a phone today but I discovered there's no dial tone. This seems somewhat odd especially considering there was supposed to be an 'active service' there, so if they hadn't done anything then surely that'd still be there, right?

I tried called 13 22 00 but couldn't get past the stupid voice prompt shit. Maybe I have a shitty voice lol. But yeah. Should I just go to a Telstra shop and see what the go is? Or should I wait a few more days?

I tried. Not my fault their voice recognition is a piece of shit. I just don't wanna waste time going to a Telstra shop if all they're gonna tell me is "wait," and hence I ask here in case there exist people who have had similar dealings with this "duhh what's customer service?" company before.
