FINA World Shortcourse Championships Thread- Sponsored by Phelps, Merethrond & Tommy!

It begins on Friday! But the Australian squad has been selected.

Matt Welsh becomes the first person to defend a 50m, 100m, and 200m title in a stroke (Backstroke) for his third consecutive year - also swimming butterfly events :)

Jodie Henry, Grant Hackett and Ian Thorpe dont seem to be going for this championships however Lisabeth Lenton is, as is Michael Phelps (5 Individual Events + Relays), and suprisingly, Jenny Thompson! Looks like she aint retiring (the most medalled athlete in olympic HISTORY - with several gold...none of them individual!)

Cheers to a great swim meet!

Ah okay thanks Sportsgal :)

Anyway, Tommy - Fine, Thorpey is the greatest swimmer - because he excels and caused greater waves in swimming than phelps, and because he is good as an all round swimmer, but particularly - Freestyle - The most competitive, toughest, and UNIVERSAL swimming stroke. Butterfly and IM's arent in that league, so there, HAPPY! :D

Merethrond -

Channel 9 Lists:

Friday Night - 11:55pm

Saturday - 3pm

Sunday - 1:30pm

Monday - 1:10am

Rest of time's and details to come.

ENJOY! :D

Wow. Brooke Hanson wins a 4th Gold. Matt Welsh is totally redeeming himself, and is doing PHENOMENALLY!

Predictions for Swimmer of the Meet - Kaitlin Sandeno (with Brooke Hanson close behind.)

Poor Amanda Beard, misses out on another medal chance :( 5 Individual Events, I think she's finished them all.

Well she does :) She has an all-time equal record of most GOLD's at one meet.

Wow, our relay team was badly structured - yet again. Shayne should have started, with Lenton finishing. Big mistake, but good effort by the latter 3 swimmers, Lenton - disappointing.
