The Tempest and The Matrix (1 Viewer)

Hey all.


I'm doing an assessment on the nature of an imaginate journey and i've chosen The Matrix as one of my related texts (to The Tempest), only problem is I don't have too much of an idea on how to link them.

So far I have;

• The fact that Imaginary journeys provide an exit from the bounds of reality (the island in Tempest, the matrix network in The Matrix)

• The "dream like" state of the Tempest Island (magic, spirits etc) can be linked to the theme of unknown reality within The Matrix.

• Possible link of a major theme within The Tempest - distinguishing "man from monster"

What i'm really looking for are parallels between the characters of both texts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
