Hey folks,

I figured that we needed a thread for study tips with the growing amount of students studying Economics.
So go ahead, HSC students (both past and present), please fill us in and give us your study tips for achieving BAND 6 in Economics.

We greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance.

definitely need to use the syllabus and write out the key points, eg. 5 factors of globalisation, and then write them down etc thats one useful tool. then also preparing a number of essay plans, a micro, a macro, an inflation, an unemployment etc we have about 15-20 different essays. then write out an essay plan: eg. Define inflation ....... causes of inflation..... current trends ..... effects of inflation ..... wat australia is doing about it...... etc etc
and do that for a whole heap of essays and youll soon see a lot of them link up and repeat from other essays which makes the course that much easier to follow. thats just how ive been studying and our teacher taught us too and we are all getting 90s for economics.

  • follow dot points
  • practice as many MC questions as possible
  • practice essays
  • after learning all the dot points, write as much as you can under each point
  • get additional resources for maximum marks for essays- i recommend EcoDate, Leading Edge newsletters and The Australian Financial Review
  • highlight your notes while you study decreases boredom and stimulates your brain more
  • keep out to date with current statistics
  • RBA website
