Hey
I just did a search on this question, and read two threads about it, but couldn't really find a solution.

Some lecturers provide colourful powerpoint files so I have to change the background (all at once, that's alright) and change the colour of the fonts/graphics of each slide, one by one......it's very time consuming

Does anyone have a best solution as to HOW I can change everything into black font (after I turned the background white)
& if there are any graphics/words embedded in pics how can I change them into black with a white/transparent background?

Please don't tell me to: just select grayscale/black and white when printing......cuz then it'd be printing slides with a dark bg and light font....which is not what I'm looking for.. and doesn't really help.

Also, is it possible to convert .ppt files into .pdf?

I know this question could have been worded better but .......

Thanks.

Easiest way I print out PowerPoint slides is, firstly, is to use Ctrl+A then change all the font to the same type and same colour. Then, when you go to Print, hit Print Preview instead and scoll down in the box until you come to "OutLine View"

This however gets rid of all pictures so if you want to keep your pics, I don't have a solution. Some of the other people on the forums might though.

To convert .ppt files into .pdf, firstly you'll need either Adobe Acrobat 7.0 or some other PDF Conversion software (Google for PDFMaker or CutePDF)

Once you've installed it and everything, open the .ppt file you want to convert. Make any changes etc. that need to be done.

Once you're finished, go to Print Preview. Change the view into whatever you want - so if you want 1 Slide to one page, leave it. If you want 6 slides to a page, then select that view, or if you want Outline View as mentioned above click that. When the file looks like you would want it to look on the screen, hit Print.

In the Print settings, there should be a new option under Printers for you to Print to. In some cases you may see something like Microsoft Office Document Image Writer - what these things do is to turn your document into a picture.

In the same way, there should be a new option, which reads something like Adobe Distiller or PDFMaker or something - basically the new software you have just installed. Select that, and hit Print.

It should ask you what you want to save your file as. Double check the file name & location.

Hit OK.

The computer will whirr and do its thing, just leave it.

Hopefully when its finished you should have your brand new shiny .pdf file of your .ppt file.

Wouldn't it be easier to select all > paste into Word > clear formatting? That way you can preserve images & manage page breaks etc a little easier.

wouldn't the images/graphics disappear then?
and......
the words will all be in the same size, font, orientation....
and I would have to find out which is the title for each page....which are the little dot points....which ones are the indented ones.....etc....

There is a VERY easy way.

Go to View>Master>Slide Master view. Then change to your hearts desire.

To end, click the Close Master view button on the panel that popped up
