Hmmm... Labor and Latham... The two terms are forever used interchangeably, yet I cannot help but think that Latham's recent statements (i.e., in the linked article) merely reinforce his long held position on the 'aspirational' classes. Pragmatic Labor thought, Latham taking a greater hand than before, elements of both or is he merely repeating what the party has said in the past? Not a question that I am asking anyone to answer, just one that I myself will be thinking about (3 month break, boredom, yay).
So, though it is still far too early for any proper level of debate, the Australian Labor Party appears to be in the process of shifting its policy direction in an attempt to retake the suburbs (even though the suburbs of today tend to differ from the suburbs of Labor's past). What do you all think?
