I'm having second thoughts about the program I'm taking (Advanced Science). I'm thinking about transferring into Economics. I heard that to do this, a student would have to maintain an average of 75% across all courses with no fails.

!Dumbass 1st year question(s) alert!

- Is this 75% raw or weighted?
- Now seriously, how tough would it be to pull this off? Assuming I don't make anymore stupid decisions and pick courses that I'd actually enjoy?
- 'Failure rate': Can somebody please explain what this means? Besides the obvious? i.e. How is it calculated/determined etc etc
- Are there other options/ways to transfer?

You don't need a 75% average for B. Economics.

- 75% is your weighted average.
- For economics, normally a credit average (65%) and above should be suffice. And that is not hard to achieve given if you did all the work required of the course (but I don't think it'd be easy for science subjects).

- Every course has a different failure rate, it's especially higher for science/engineering related subjects.

- Finish your current degree, and then do the 2nd degree after. OR if your UAI is high enough, do only 1 semester (I'm assuming you can't defer this semester now) and then defer the next semester, then appy for semester 1 2010 B. Economics through UAC, they will only look at your UAI for the entry to the course.
