haven't learnt transformers in great depth in school, feels like my teacher just skimmed through it

Can anyone tell my how Principle of conservation of energy relates to transformers??

P=VI ? Power from primary coil must = to secondary coil? So in step up transformers, the secondary coil has a bigger V and less I than primary coil?? and in step down transformers, the opposite?

Is that what it is ???

Then what's Ploss = I^2R

Energy is conserved, all the energy from the primary coil is transferred into the secondary coil (in a perfect transformer).

Yes.

Then what's Ploss = I^2R
