Hello,

I'm having problems calculating the current that occurs in secondary coil.

The equation is Vp/Vs=np/ns...

So since V=IR, shouldn't Ip/Is=np/ns, since the R cancels out?

But for a question like below, I get an incorrect answer. But if I take the inverse of Vp/Vs, the equation works for calculating current. Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

A battery charger is used to recharge 1.5V batteries through a 12V transformer. THe transformer has 2400 turns in primary coil. Assuming 100% efficiency, calculate:

a) the number of turns in secondary coil (I worked it out, it's 300... and the answers say that its correct)

b) the output current is input current is 10mA. (This is the part which I don't get).

Thanks alot if you can help me.
