How would you go about doing:

cosx = 1- cosx?

I was told to graph it, but now I'm just confused! :(

Hi Carolyn! Haven't talked to you in ages. :)

cosx = 1- cosx
2cosx = 1
cosx = 1/2
x = pi/3, 5pi/3, 7pi/3...

or a general solution:
x=2.pi.n + pi/3, n is an integer

If you want to do it by graphing, graph y=cosx and y=1-cosx on the same set of axes and all intersection points of the two curves will be your solutions.

Hope that helps. ;)
