If tan(x/2) = t, express in terms of t.
tan(x)-tan(x/2)
cot(x/2)+tan(x)

The answer is t^2 but I'm not getting it correct.

first, convert all the tan(x) terms to tan (2x/2). then, convert your cot(x/2) into an expression of tan(x/2). replace all expressions of tan(x/2) = t, as your RHS is in terms of t. common denominate so you have one fraction, then begin double angle expansions and you should be able to bash out a t^2
