im not 100% sure, but from what my teacher has told us, there is no glass at all, even if you were to insulate it...

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/syllabus2000_listv.html#vietnamesec

look at that site... if it doesnt tell you if you can insulate it, you have two options: be on the safe side and dont submit it (cos if you do, apparently it wont be marked and will be sent back) or REPLACE the glass with perspex... or call the board of studies and ask them...

hope you get the answer you are lookin for

The issue is based on OH&S. Glass and perspex shatter and cut those people handling the works.

Is the glass an integral part of the work? CAn you replace it with something else? Can you do another version? Sometimes given another opportunity a better work may emerge

plastics might work. i'm not sure what the rule on perspex is, off the top of my head...

if you ring up the BoS, and they turn you down, don't definitely go with what they tell you, just cos they're from the BoS. sometimes they put you through to people who obviously don't know what they're talking about -- and even if they're really good, they're more likely to err on the cautious (i.e. use something else!) side.
