Tut attendence (2 Viewers)

Hey, i have enrolled for the bachelor of business course, and was just wondering if attendence at all tutorials was compulsary, or if there was a certain number u have to attend?

It varies from subject to subject. Some coordinators (or lecturers) don't set tutorials as a requirement, while others expect you to show up to all of them. Accounting for Business in 2008 (not sure about 2009/2010) made tutorials optional, whereas Managing People and Organisations made all tutorials 'mandatory'. Even when you're expected to show up to all tutorials, you can often get away with 2 or 3 missed lessons.

That aside, you're unlikely to fail if you don't show up, but they do sometimes take tutorial attendance into account when you're a borderline fail/pass... or at least they say they do.

In Accounting for Business, there are homework questions due each week, but there are three random homework sets which are incorporated into your final mark. So you could not go to the tutorials but if you don't go on the day which HW is collected then minus those marks from your final grade.

It's also better to attend just in case you get a mark that is 48/49%
If you show the subject coordinator that you went to tutes, it is more likely that they will pass you - although this is up to the coordinator's discretion.
